A score you can audit.
No black box. Six checks, fixed weights and the same result every time. This is exactly how your 100 points are spent.
| Check | What it looks at | Full marks |
|---|---|---|
| Keyword match 40% | Terms from the job description that also appear in your CV. Matching ignores tense and plurals, so optimise and optimisation count as one.Needs a job description. Without one, the other five checks are rescaled to 100. | Every term found |
| Recognised sections 15% | Standard headings that let a parser file your content in the right place: summary, experience, education and skills. | All four found |
| Quantified impact 15% | Lines that state a result with a number, a percentage or an amount of money. Contact details and date ranges are ignored. | Five or more lines |
| Contact details 10% | An email address, a phone number and a profile link, so the system can build your candidate record. | All three present |
| Action verbs 10% | Whether your bullets open with what you did rather than what you were responsible for. | Six or more distinct verbs |
| Length 10% | Total word count. Too short reads as thin; too long gets skimmed. | 350 to 900 words |
Questions, answered plainly.
Does a high score guarantee an interview?
No. The score measures how readable and relevant your CV is to software. Recruiters still decide who to call. A strong score removes avoidable reasons to be filtered out before they ever look.
Is my CV stored?
No. Text you paste is scored in your browser and never leaves it. If you upload a file, it is sent to us only to pull the text out and nothing about it is kept — no copy of the file, no copy of the text, no record that you ran it. There is no account to create and nothing to delete afterwards.
What counts as a good score?
75 and above reads as strong: your CV is clean and covers most of the role. Below 50, the top fix is usually worth more than everything else combined. Scores are relative to the job description you paste, so the same CV can score differently for different roles.
Why does my score change when I add a job description?
Without one we score the five structural checks and rescale them to 100. With one, keyword match joins at 40% — the biggest single factor, because it is the only check that depends on the role.
Should I copy the missing keywords into my CV?
Only where they are true. Stuffing terms in can lift a score and cost you the interview. Use the gaps to spot real experience you have described in different words, then say it in the role's language.
Which file should I use?
Pasting plain text gives the most accurate read. PDF and Word files work when they contain real text rather than a scanned image. If a file scores oddly low, paste its text instead.
